This album was recorded in my home studio with the exception of many of the singers. I try to keep things simple as I believe there can be creativity in limitation.

As I mentioned, I can rarely remember how to play songs, including my own. So, the first step was to re-learn how to play my guitar and bass parts.  After this, it is complete agony: laying down quality tracks. This is hard rock, so you must have least two guitars panned left and right, which means I have to record twice as many tracks. I will typically record 2 or 3 full passes and then copy/paste to make one solid track. When I'm done recording these initial tracks, I will rarely record again, and will go to great lengths to copy and paste and avoid more recording.

Once the L/R guitars and bass were done, I realized I needed top-notch solos and forced myself to doing something new: practice. Dave Mustaine typically writes pretty intricate solos so picked a couple Megadeth classics and learned the solos to get back my dexterity and learn some new licks.

The solos you hear sound great, but most of it is recording magic. Many of these were cobbled together from take after take after take. On the really fast songs, I even had to slow the tempo down to record an acceptable rock solo. So, I hate to disappoint, but don't count on hearing these live!

OK, done with instruments, time to sing...
