Every streaming release requires an album cover, but I had special plans in mind for this release so I needed more than just a web-friendly .jpg. The timing of this album release couldn't come at a better time; AI has made it possible for anyone to create stunning images and video by only writing text prompts.

I had a rough idea of what I wanted for the cover so I started working with DALL·E 3 (now part of ChatGPT Plus) to bring my vision to life. Fail. I just could not get it to create what I had in my head (driving on an empty Las Vegas strip during the pandemic) so I moved on. I asked GPT to create images for the term "revlevel", I had it read all my lyrics for image ideas, and even images based on my original car album theme. Nothing was great, though I thought the image at the top of on this web page was interesting and I loved the REVLEVEL spectacle shown on the About page.

Finally, I wondered what an image would look like if you combined  the concepts of "RPM" and "BPM". This resulted many, many interesting images that you see on this site. I finally decided on the gear image shown on the Release page and sought feedback. The results were mixed and I was encouraged by Jeremy to dig deeper and create a timeless image that matched the depth of my album.

The final result is what you see on the home page and the album cover. It's a multi-faceted image that encourages multiple viewings.

Not done yet though! I had GPT interpret each of my songs' lyrics to create the images for this site. This was a fascinating process as it brought my words to life. For kicks, I had GPT design logos for each song too. After I settled on the images that best represented my songs, I created video for Spotify. Be sure to check each one out in the app!

All told, the image process took about four months. All done? Nope, not yet, it's time for more...
